If I have one piece of advice so far it is to go and meet the neighbours. As long as you don't piss them off with imperious attitude and 'we're gonna do whatever we want' language, they can be a fount of goodness and local knowledge. After an uncertain start, we have found our neighbours to be supportive and helpful.

The UN’s biodiversity head, Elizabeth Maruma Mrema, said humanity was at a crossroads that would decide how future generations experience the natural world. “Earth’s living systems as a whole are being compromised. And the more humanity exploits nature in unsustainable ways and undermines its contributions to people, the more we undermine our own wellbeing, security and prosperity,” she said.
